How MugiPocket Prices One Piece Cards: Tracked Sales, Daily Snapshots and What We Do Not Do

A price is only useful if you know where it came from. MugiPocket tracks 8,072 One Piece card printings, and every one of them gets a market price rebuilt each day from tracked sales. This is the method, in plain language, so you can decide how much to trust a number before you act on it.

What we count

• Completed sales, not listings. An asking price is an opinion. A completed sale is a fact. We only use the second.
• Per printing, not per card number. OP07-051 base, alternate art, SP and manga are four different prices, because they are four different cards.
• English and Japanese separately. Same art, different market, different price.
• Graded separately. PSA 10, 9 and 8 each have their own price where enough sales exist.

How often

Every night the pipeline rebuilds the price of every printing and records a snapshot. That snapshot is what the 90 day charts, the weekly movers lists and the "as of" dates on every page are built from. When a card has no sales for a while, its price holds at the last known level and the page says so.

What we do not do

• We do not average in listings to make thin markets look busier than they are.
• We do not smooth spikes away. If one sale moved a thin market, the chart shows it. A reader can see a spike; a reader cannot see a number we quietly removed.
• We do not adjust for condition on raw sales. A raw price is an average of raw sales as sold. Graded prices are the condition adjusted view.

A price you can trace is worth more than a price that looks clean.
